MyAntiqueBikes

(I originally built this website ten years ago and many of these antique bicycles have passed on to other owners. They were mine once. I restored them. So I will leave them here for you to look at. Please don't write me to ask if any of these bikes are for sale. If I do still own the bike, as in the case of the first one listed, you wouldn't want to pay the price I would ask for it anyway. It's weird how a mechanical thing like an old bike becomes a piece of one's heart. It's downright absurd. And I put a price on a bike like this accordingly. Plainly I don't want to sell it. And over the past ten years it has gotten rusty and the paint has dulled and if you did pay my price and I boxed it up and shipped it to you, you would pull your hair out when it arrived to see its rusty condition.

1. 1933-1936 Schwinn World B10E motorbike. Overhauled and painted. The saddle has been recovered with leather. This is the original fat tire bike, the first Schwinn to ever be created with fat tires. Rides like a dream. I have owned this bike since 1985. Originally I bought it in the Missoula Montana landfill for five dollars. Of course it didn't look nice like this. I actually sanded it down and painted it back in 1985. Then it sat on top of my bicycle bus for nearly twenty years and rusted back to worse than ever. In Sept of 2003 I restored it again. 4. 1958 Schwinn. (Perhaps a Schwinn Tiger). Aftermarket fenders. New paint. Large spring seat had a rip which has been repaired with silicone. All the bearings overhauled. Wheels are old Schwinn s-7s. Very comfortable ride.
100_0486_th.JPG (6188 bytes) 5. 1930s Hawthorne Duralium made by the Silverking bicycle company. Silverking made the world's first aluminum bicycle. Frame, fork, crank, chainguard, wheels are all original. Even the tires are over fifty years old, and still hold air. The handlebars are as ancient as the bike, but not the aluminum ones the bike came with. The seat has been repainted and recovered with leather. All the bearings have been overhauled. 100_0503_th.JPG (7011 bytes) 6. 1962 Schwinn Traveler 2 speed kickback. Paint job is still good. Decal colors are bright. Schwinn seat is almost like new. Schwinn grips too. The two speed is smooth. The wheels are true. A real beauty. Click on the picture to enlarge.

7. Early 1930's ladies Columbia Rambler.  I have sanded and repainted the bike and all the bearings have been rebuilt. Saddle recovered with leather. New whitewall tires.
This bike has no badge, but the crank has the Rambler styling characteristic of all Ramblers. The chainguard is generic. 100_0517s.JPG (7783 bytes)

8. 1920s Columbia Motorbike. Has no nameplate but the badge on my 1920s Columbia racer fits almost perfectly. This bike originally had 28 inch wheels and was retrofitted with Schwinn 26 inch rims in a Schwinn shop, attached to the original hubs, probably back in the forties. I have completely overhauled, repainted this bike -- rides wonderfully. Click on the picture to enlarge.

9. 1919 Columbia Racer. Well, no way as yet to know what year it is. But it's somewhere around 1919 because there is a sticker on it that lists the Columbia Race Victories up until 1917.

10. 1953 Schwinn World with a rare New Departure 3 speed. Unrestored as yet. Not for sale.

100_0542th_CrawfordBadge.JPG (18066 bytes)

11. 1896 Crawford, ladies frame, wooden wheels. Unrestored. Missing handlebars, gooseneck, and headset. Crank frozen up but surely is rebuildable. Wheels are broken and warped. Needs tires.

If you are interested in purchasing any of these restored antique bicycles please contact me through email. Thanks.
